The Eight: Zero Service

The Eight is the typical Yum Cha place: Yummy food with The Zero service.
Please wait to be seated and they really meant it. Wait as in ignored, stood there for like five minutes before getting some form of ungrateful grimace.
Once you get seated,  it’s another story, the food was fresh and the fried food were still warm even after being pushed around which is always a good sign.
No complaints about the food. Everything was seasoned and nothing was overcooked. I’ll let the photos speak for this one.

Conclusion

You really only pay for the food at this place, it’s above average but if you’re treated like dirt as you step in, the food has to be really exceptional to come back to. Funny thing is, the people earning the least i.e. people pushing the trolley are the friendliest of the lot.
If it’s a big group and you couldn’t care less about the sloppy service it might be actually acceptable to dine here. Don’t fell bad if you don’t tip.

Would I go again?

No.
